I. General maintenance of weapons

If your weapon gets wet during use, then it should be lightly (without pressing) wiped from the outside witha soft cotton cloth. After that, use BALLISTOL while injecting it into the barrel at both ends, shake androtate the barrel several times to BALLISTOL it covered all the rifling fields, the rifling itself, and theentire polygonal surface as a whole. Then wait a few minutes to BALLISTOL managed to react and dissolve theremains of the lubricant and combustion products. Make sure that when cleaning the weapon, the muzzlesection is directed downwards, otherwise powder deposits, unburned particles of ammunition and other typesof dirt can get into the system and settle there. Therefore, the system may lose smoothness of movement, andit may even happen that the firing pin of the drummer will jam.

Gunpowder particles from the cartridges also enter the system during ignition. Thick smoke and tiny particlesenter the moving parts and settle there. Therefore, these areas should be cleaned especially carefully withBALLISTOL. Cotton pads and brushes for cleaning the cradle will help you do this. Excess BALLISTOL easilyremoved with a soft cotton cloth. It is important that a thin film remains on the surface BALLISTOL. Afterthat, if the design of your weapon allows it, Thread a dry patch or plastic plug from the chamber to themuzzle (if not, then from the muzzle to the cartridge). Always use a new patch or felt stopper, as dirtshould be removed, not evenly smeared. Then, again, lightly wipe off the moistened one BALLISTOL the outersurface of the weapon. It should be processed from time to time BALLISTOL and the rifle belt, so that thebelt does not harden and does not mold, but remains elastic and smooth.

Pistol magazines should also be cleaned regularly with BALLISTOL, sincethere are remnants of gunpowder, and the supply of cartridges in the magazine should remain uniform. Try toavoid using broaches, and if this is not avoided, then do not forgetto use at least some muzzle protection. Just as large oaks fall from numerous minor blows, the connectinglinks of the Broach will be removed on the muzzle layer by layer, until this affects the accuracy ofshooting. Especially harmful to the muzzle is the use of wire brushes, when you clean the barrel, stretchthe ramrod back and forth, instead of removing the brush by pushing it in one direction. If there are metalresidues in your weapon, it is better not to use wire brushes at all, but to use ROBLA, or its equivalent. For more information, see Section II. Your weapon is now ready for use or ready for storage. If you do notuse your weapon for a long time, it would be advisable to lubricate the barrel. Just pull the moistenedpatch through it BALLISTOL, and, under normal storage conditions, the film from BALLISTOL reliably protectthe barrel from corrosion.

Often, after an intense hunt, you don't have much desire to properly clean your weapons. In this case, injecta little BALLISTOL in the barrel at both ends and just a little bit on the outer surface of the weapon, andtherefore you can postpone cleaning until the next day, without causing any damage to your weapon. Don'tforget: the muzzle should point downwards, as we have already mentioned. Only fully cleaned weapons can bestored in the gun cabinet by turning it muzzle up.

In addition, to improve the appearance of your weapon, you can also use GUNEX. GUNEX protects againstcorrosion even better and longer than BALLISTOL. That is why in bad weather conditions, and when the weaponcannot be cleaned for several days, you should use it GUNEX. However, to clean the internal parts of yourweapon, use only BALLISTOL, since only an alkaline weapon oil, such as BALLISTOL, can effectively neutralizeacid residues, and therefore protect weapons from damage. Also, under normal conditions BALLISTOL providessufficient corrosion protection at the hunting or shooting site.

Please remember that true bluing is an ultra-thin oxide coating. If you do not handle it properly, then, like, for example, a paint coating, it will also suffer from mechanical wear. Intense friction can quicklydestroy bluing. Therefore, if you want to admire the brilliance of blackblueing for a long time, you should handle the blued parts almost gently and with a soft cloth. In any case,if the bluing is damaged, you can help it yourself by using KLEVER Brünierung. For more information, seeChapter Three of this brochure. In some small - caliber rifles (for example, Remington), certain parts ofthe weapon are made of aluminum alloys or similar materials. Such parts cannot be blued. Therefore, theseparts are covered with a black varnish with a matte shade, which creates the impression of a real bluing. Inmany cases, this varnish coating is not resistant to oil. Therefore, in these cases, such parts just need tobe wiped with a damp cloth. The barrel and impact mechanism are always made of Steel, which means that theyshould always be cleaned with BALLISTOL.

Sometimes someone may recommend using a weapon lubricant containingTeflon. If these recommendations relate to the barrel or chamber, then we definitely agree with this, andstrictly warn against implementing such recommendations. These commonly used polymers contain carbonfluorides. During combustion, the temperature reaches 3000° C and a huge pressure is generated in thechamber and barrel (2000-3000 bar). Under such conditions, polymers containing fluoride decompose, whichleads to the appearance of a small amount of hydrofluoric acid. Hydrofluoric acid is very aggressive andeven leads to the formation of ulcers in the trunk. Therefore, when using products containing Teflon, beextremely careful. These products can only be used for fur parts, but even with this use, they do notprovide any advantages.

If you use all-metal shell or semi-shell cartridges, and if your budget for cartridges is quite moderate, then the gun care with BALLISTOL or GUNEX will be quite sufficient. At least once a year, or if you shootoften enough – more often than once a year – you should thoroughly clean your weapon completely.

II. Barrel residue caused by lead or pinchbeck bullets

Some barrels become inaccurate even after 10, and some after 50 shots. Why is this happening? The pinchbeckalloy of modern warp bullets releases tiny particles and covers the metal surface in the barrel with a thinlayer of metal residue, which becomes thicker with each shot, until for no apparent reason even the bestweapons begin to disperse the shots!

If the inaccuracy of the weapon is caused by metal residue, then the safest and mildest way to restore theaccuracy of the weapon is to use it correctly ROBLA- SOLO, or its equivalent. ROBLA-SOLO is much better thanany wire brushes or other similar torture tools. Finally, ROBLA-SOLO replaces the steel wool that hasirreparably destroyed so many trunks after just one cleaning. ROBLA- SOLO gently dissolves pinch-beck,brass, copper, lead and zinc without damaging steel, nickel and chromium.

Instructions for use:

If there is a thick metal layer in the barrel, close the barrel from one end with a cork or a piece ofrubber, and fill the barrel ROBLA-SOLO. Give ROBLA-SOLO a couple of hours for him to do his job. If thebarrel is only slightly clogged, then simply pull through the barrel soaked in water. ROBLA-SOLO patch orfelt сork, and that's enough. Yellow or blue indicates dissolved copper and brass, while zinc and lead leavethe solution colorless. Repeat this procedure until the felt or patch becomes colorless. Allow the grout todrain, then pull the dry patch through the barrel, and then use BALLISTOL or GUNEX as described in SectionI. Before using the weapon, we recommend that you once again thread a dry patch through the barrel.

If the barrel is only wetted ROBLA-SOLO then make sure that the barrel does not lie in a disassembled statefor a long time, because in this case, the ammonia compounds will evaporate, and the remaining water mayreact with certain organic substances.salts, thereby causing localized corrosion. Soluble force ROBLA-SOLO it is so powerful that it can evencorrode bluing. Blued parts that have been lubricated ROBLA-SOLO, should be soaked once or rinsed withwater. If necessary, when restoring bluing, you can use KLEVER Brünierung, which will be discussed in thenext section.

In addition, …... be careful when thoroughly cleaning chrome barrels with ROBLA-SOLO (this also applies to other similarproducts.) Chrome plating is often applied to copper released as a result of electrolysis, which givesadvantages over the process of direct chrome plating of barrel steel. If there are any cracks in the chromecoating, even of micro - furnace size, then the barrel cleaner will corrode the underlying layer of copper, because its tasks include dissolving metal residues in the barrel. The consequence is that copper willdissolve under chromium, and then chromium will certainly disappear as well. Please note: this will nothappen if there are no cracks or defects on the hard chrome surface.

III. Damaged bluing

Bluing of the weapon can be damaged due to too intense shooting, during heavy hunting, or when installing anoptical sight. To save you from the difficult problem of restoring bluing and the costly procedure forapplying new bluing using special accessories, we offer ємо KLEVER Brünierung, with which you can deal withminor damage yourself. Usage KLEVER Brünierung, plus care with the use of BALLISTOL or GUNEX, will quicklygive you the desired deep black matte finish. This coating is resistant to wear and impervious to oils. Withelemental skills, you can get the same results as those obtained in the process of real bluing. If you havea little more experience, then with KLEVER Brünierung you will be able to blot even complex barrels orindividual parts such as screws, nuts and bolts. Please note that steel containing more than four chromiumresidues cannot be blued. The same applies to cases made of aluminum or zinc. There are special products forthese metals.

Instructions for use:

For uniform bluing, the part to be blued must be completely cleaned of dirt. For such pre-cleaning, werecommend ROBLA Kaltentfetter. Apply this cleaner with a brush to the part you want to blot, and then wipeit off. Repeat this procedure several times, but for the last time, do not wipe the cleaner completely, butjust let it drain itself. When the part is dry again, use another brush and apply to the surface of the partKLEVER Brünierung. After one or two minutes, a yellow coating will appear on it. Therefore, you can rinseyour part in plenty of water. Then blot the re-installed area with a paper napkin. And finally use a sprayBALLISTOL or GUNEX, and use a cotton cloth to remove any excess oil. Therefore, the new bluing will turndeep black.

Warning!

KIEVER Brünierung contains mineral acid. Like all mineral acids, it is a caustic substance. So be carefulwhen working. If acid gets on your skin, mucous surfaces, or eyes, immediately flush them with water orconsult a doctor. Make sure that KLEVER Brünierung don't get under your feet - those, because once there, itcan burn the thin cuticles on your nails. There are always a lot of bacteria in the nail bed, which cancause painful inflammation and onychitis. The best protection for your hands is to use thick rubber gloves.

IV. How to save butt stocks

Most of the butt stocks are so – called oil butt stocks, meaning that the tree of the butt stocks is alreadysoaked in oils by the manufacturer. In addition, there are burnt butts, mainly on English rifles and onweapons of special connoisseurs. However, regardless of the butt style of your weapon, a series of ourproducts BALSIN it is the best of modern butt care products.

Balsin-Schaftöl - oil butt stocks: transparent-red-brown – dark browngives a new silky shine to even old, fragile and damaged butt stocks from suitable conditions. Using aspecial silicone formula, Balsin-Stockoil makes the butt wood water - resistant, protects it from rot andmold, preserves its texture and increases its resistance to weather influences. Therefore, the butt remainssmooth and clean. Balsin-Schaftöl – it is absolutely ideal for preventive maintenance of butt stocks made ofwalnut wood, as well as other untreated wood materials. We strongly recommend it for the care of unpolishedfurniture.

Balsin-Schaftöl available in various colors, such as transparent, red-brown, and dark brown. The last twowill help you, in particular, in the process of working with natural wood - to achieve the desired shade, aswell as to re – paint the wood. To enhance the imitation effect and for regular care after hunting, werecommend Balsin-Schaftöl Hell (transparent).

Instructions for use:

First, the butt should be treated with corundum sandpaper (grain size 280) to completely free the surfacefrom unevenness. Then the butt is sanded again with a finer corundum paper (grain size 400) so as to get asmooth surface. After that, wipe the wood with a lint-free cotton cloth. If there are dents or chips on thebutt, then these damages should be treated first with a file so that the surface is smooth and smooth. Ofcourse, this procedure is unnecessary if the butt is already smooth and if it only needs to be polished.

Now the butt that has been cleaned of dust and residues can be evenly covered Balsin- Schaftöl. This can bedone with a brush or with a cloth dipped in Balsin-Schaftöl; or you can apply the product to the butt, thenrub it and spread it evenly over the surface. The frequency of repetition of this procedure depends on theshade you want to achieve. After the last coat, wipe the wood with a lint-free cotton cloth. Form a cloth inthe form of a ball and rub the product in a circle (in small circles) so that the product penetrates as wellas possible into all the pores of the wood. If you do not have a lint - free cloth at hand, then the lastprocedure can be performed with the thumb of your glove. Therefore, the butt has an excellent silky shineand is protected from rain, moisture, rot and mold for a long period of time.

V. Muzzle-loading weapons, emasculated weapons, and signal weapons

For removing and cleaning black powder residues, for example, in muzzle-loading, emasculated and signalweapons, BALLISTOL-KLEVER developed a special product for you – ROBLA-Schwarzpulver-Solvent - black powdersolvent ROBLA.

Unlike the charge of modern ammunition, which emits almost no smoke, the remains from the combustion of blackpowder consist of inorganic salts, soot and other combustion products. These residues stimulate corrosionprocesses in the trunk much more strongly, knife remnants from gunpowder of modern ammunition. Weapons oils – and all of them are produced on anorganic basis-cannot properly neutralize these residues. That's why you need ROBLA-Schwarzpulver-Solvent,which will perfectly cope with this problem.

Instructions for use:

Soak the patch or felt plug attached to your ramrod, or the brush purchased with your blank gun, in thesolvent ROBLA- Schwarzpulver-Solvent. Then pull the patch or other several times through the barrel that youwant to clean. The frequency of this procedure depends on the intensity of accumulation of residues in thetrunk. Similarly, you should clean the chambers of a blank weapon. Then the parts that need to be cleanedneed to be wiped with a new patch, both after a single broach procedure, and after the last broach withmultiple procedures. BALLISTOL it should be applied as described in the first section. For optimal results,it is recommended to repeat this procedure several times.

Warning!

ROBLA-Schwarzpulver-Solvent can damage the bluing on your weapon. Therefore, try to avoid getting the solventon the bluing. If it happens that a little solvent gets on the bluing, the solvent should be immediatelyblotted, and the place where the solvent got should be rinsed with water. After processing with a solventROBLA-Schwarzpulver-Solvent never leave your weapons lying around for long periods of time. After cleaning, your weapon needs final processing with BALLISTOL. If the solvent gets into your eyes, immediately flushyour eyes with water. If the solvent gets on your skin, just wipe it off.

VI. Some recommendations for storing weapons

In addition to all the safety instructions, which of course are well known to you, there are some additionalaspects that may also be of interest to you. Always store your weapons in a dry place. Usually, theseconditions are easily met by storing weapons in a gun cabinet at normal room temperature and mediumhumidity. Despite this – although very rarely-your weapon can be corroded even with the best possible care.Don't blame the gun oil you used, especially if you used it BALLISTOL or GUNEX. Instead, look for othercauses that may have caused the corrosion. For example, if you kept your ammo close to your weapon. Eachcartridge emits gases, although in a very small amount, which is difficult to fix. In principle, this is notsurprising, because the charges of cartridges consist of very unstable components, the structure of whichinvolves combustion. During a flash, the combustion process should occur extremely quickly, but even at roomtemperature, these components also undergo certain transformations. That is why the shelf life of cartridgesis limited. Whether the released gases, when combined with water, will lead to corrosion depends on both thequality and quantity of ammunition stored. In addition, it should be taken into account that in fact the airin the cabinet does not change, so the accumulation of toxic gases is very possible. Therefore, you shouldstore your ammunition separately from your weapons, if possible behind a separate partition or in a separatedrawer. Regular ventilation is an effective preventive measure.

VII. What else would you like to know about BALLISTOL

By the developer BALLISTOL there is Dr. Helmut-Wolgang Klever, the son of the founder of the company, whichwas attracted for its needs by the army of the German Reich. We needed an oil that could be used for manypurposes, for example, for weapons and wounds, and that could be carried in a soldier's field satchel toprovide first aid for minor wounds. At that time, such a seemingly contradictory combination of medicaland the technical aspects were not unusual. Think, for example, of Vaseline, which was then used both as alubricant, as an additional component in dressings, and in the cosmetics industry.

The year of birth, so to speak BALLISTOL it became 1905. This brand name comes from the word “ballistics”.Thanks to its versatility and high quality BALLISTOL it began to be in great demand. It is no exaggerationto say that BALLISTOL it cannot be compared with any other similar oil. The founding parents of our companyliked to experiment, and then find new areas of application BALLISTOL: from the care of weapons to thetreatment of wounds, from the remedy for certain internal diseases to mycosis pedis (foot epidermophytosis)and psoriasis, from the drying of the crest in chickens to catarrh in rabbits, from the treatment of theears of hunting dogs to problems from saddles in horses, from irritation caused by shooting, to pain in thebuttocks from the ride. At the same time, creative amateurs and artisans found new and new ways to use itBALLISTOL: tools used in the field of mechanical and precision mechanics and for all mechanisms and motorsmade of iron and steel; anything that needs corrosion protection and should be easy to move. From a car to aworkbench in industry, from bicycles, locks, door holders, gardening tools to mechanical clocks, watermeters, beverage filling equipment and sausages production. In addition to highly effective corrosionprotection and in addition to lubrication, BALLISTOL it can also be much more: it is also a decontaminator;this is why many dentists used it before the Second World War BALLISTOL for storing and disinfecting tools. In some hospitals, it is still used today in the process of steam sterilization of surgical instruments andequipment. There are no reservations about using it BALLISTOL as a medical product. Animal experiments haveshown that even if the creature's stomach is completely filled BALLISTOL this will not cause any harm to theanimal and will not lead to poisoning. According to legend, sometimes it happened that a small childmistakenly drank a whole bottle BALLISTOL. And without any harm, except, perhaps, that the next day thischild felt slightly dizzy.

After the Second World War, a new law on the production and use of medicines was adopted; the law establisheda mandatory distinction between NEO- BALLISTOL registered as a medical product, and BALLISTOL, which, according to this law, could no longer be advertised as a medicinal product. Otherwise, it could beregistered as a medical product, which meant that it could only be sold in pharmacies. Thus, BALLISTOLdeveloped in NEO-BALLISTOL, which is no longer a protection against corrosion, but has an ever - increasingtherapeutic effect due to the addition of valuable natural substances to it.

Instead BALLISTOL and they still produce it as it was produced since 1905, without any changes. Four or fivegenerations of riflemen relied on irreplaceable ingredients BALLISTOL. Valuable natural substances used forthe production of BALLISTOL,- these are substances of extreme purity, the same as those that they are usedin medicine, they are under strict control. So, if the bottle is well corked, then BALLISTOL it can bestored for 25 years or more without losing its fine liquid consistency, without thickening and loss ofeffectiveness. After being stored for twenty – five years or so, only its color may change slightly-it willbecome slightly darker. BALLISTOL I also got what we call an environmental plus. In contrast to all othertechnical oils contained in most types of weapons oils, the oil contained in the BALLISTOL, does not poisondrinking water. In addition, substances used in BALLISTOL, are part of nature, are components of naturalcirculation, and therefore are biodegradable.
