The Ruike P801-J is a reimagining of the brand's best-selling P801-SF folding knife. This version retains the knife-wielding EDC design with a Drop Point blade profile, but has become even more ergonomic and comfortable to use thanks to an improved handle and a reduced weight of just 86 grams (instead of 120 grams for the basic tool).
The 86 mm long blade is made of Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel, developed specifically for the knife industry. The brand combines strength and high corrosion resistance. The first parameter is achieved due to the inclusion of about 0.62% carbon in the composition, and the second - thanks to 14% chromium. Other advantages of the metal include: the resistance of the cutting edge to damage and ease of sharpening, which allows you to care for the tool both at home and in the field.
The blade steel is cryogenically treated, which gives the metal a hardness of 57-59 HRC. At the final stage of production, the steel is stonewashed. This is a trendy processing method, as a result of which the metal surface becomes matte, hiding fingerprints, scuffs and other, more significant damage that appears over a long period of use of the tool.
The design boasts a variety of opening options: using a fin or a pin integrated on both sides of the blade. The length of the knife when open reaches 200 mm. The bearing ensures smooth blade movement, which is fixed in the open position using the frame lock locking plate. If you need to do rough work with the knife, the model provides this opportunity thanks to the ribbed finger stop. The blade thickness at the butt is 3.1 mm.
The handle uses two materials: stainless steel on one side and impact-resistant G10 fiberglass on the other. This combination increases the comfort of holding the design in your hand thanks to the rough surface of the composite blade and preserves one of the main advantages of the knife - its stylish appearance.
A clip is attached to the steel part of the handle, which is single-position. If desired, the Ruike P801-J knife can be decorated with a lanyard - there is a tail hole in the handle for it.
