Description of Civivi Orthrus C20037B-1 knife:

The Civivi tactical knife provides for the blade to be installed in one of two positions to choose from: in the classic straight position or at an angle of about 45° in the style of a karambit. The blade tilts and then locks at the push of a button. This solution, combined with the unusual shape of the design, thought out to the smallest detail by former Marine Tony Sentmanat, led the tool to victory at the international knife exhibition Blade Show 2022 in the “Most Innovative Design” nomination.

The blade is made of Nitro-V steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The brand is in high demand due to its balanced composition with the inclusion of vanadium and nitrogen, which enhance the positive properties of chromium and carbon, increase the corrosion resistance of the metal and its strength characteristics. The blade is distinguished by a non-uniform surface, which is the result of stonewashing the metal at the final stage of production. The treatment makes the metal matte, so fingerprints and minor scuffs are not so noticeable on it.

The blade has a double-sided sharpening and a thin tip, which improves the knife's penetrating capabilities. The part of the blade with a serrated edge is designed for cutting fibrous materials, such as cords and slings. The blade length is 95.5 mm with a thickness of 3 mm.

To prevent the 204.8 mm long model from slipping out of your hand, its handle is complemented by a pair of overlays with a ribbed surface. Their material is impact-resistant black G10 fiberglass. The tail of the handle is crowned with a wide hole for a lanyard.

Despite its fixed design and weighing 138.2 grams, the knife is comfortable to carry thanks to the hard Kydex sheath. The sheath has a water drain hole and a T-shaped belt clip designed by Bob Terzuola.
