The Ruike P831S-SA all-metal knife is an improved version of the P831-SF folding model, the brand's bestseller, which has won the hearts of pocket tool lovers with a well-balanced balance between cutting quality, ease of transportation, and bright design.
The updated model has adopted these characteristics of the basic tool. The changes affected the method of opening the folding structure: instead of a double-sided pin, a steel flipper fin is provided, pressing which allows you to instantly remove the blade from the handle.
The reverse tanto blade profile is characterized by an elongated cutting edge with a straight sharpening. The 85 mm long blade is crowned with a sharp tip, thanks to which the tool can be used for not only cutting, but also stabbing work. The thickness of the butt is 3.1 mm.
The blade material is Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel. The combination of 14% chromium and 0.1% nitrogen makes the metal resistant to rust, and cryogenic treatment increases the hardness of the brand to 57-59 HRC. At the final stage of production, the steel blade was sandblasted. As a result, the metal acquired a matte finish that masks fingerprints, shallow scratches and other minor damage that appear on the blade during use. Sandblasting also has a positive effect on the strength of the cutting edge. However, given that this is a rough method of metal processing, it is recommended to monitor the cleanliness and dryness of the blade after each use to avoid the appearance of corrosion spots on it.
The opening of the design is smooth thanks to the ball bearing made of high-carbon, chromium-containing steel. At the moment of fixing the blade, a characteristic click is heard, which indicates that the blade is brought into combat readiness and is held by the frame lock mechanism. The total length of the knife is 195 mm.
The handle of the Ruike P831S-SA is also made of stainless steel, but of a different brand - 3Cr14N. The length of the handle reaches 110 mm, ensuring a comfortable hold of the tool. A metal clip is attached to the right side of the structure, and there is a round hole for a lanyard in the tail. The weight of the model is 93 grams.
