Lightweight, stylish and incredibly sharp - that's all about the Ruike P188-B knife. It is designed for EDC use, but it will also be suitable as a secondary tool in the field, if a thin blade is required for certain tasks.
The model has a folding design with a blade made of D2 tool steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC. This is not quite the usual brand for Ruike tools, which allows you to balance the quality of the design with its cost.
The steel sharpens quickly, effectively resists chipping and deformation under high loads, and has good corrosion resistance, provided that a simple rule of blade care is followed: wipe it dry after each use. Black stonewash of the blade, performed at the final stage of production, allows you to achieve a perfectly matte steel surface, matting fingerprints and small scratches.
The blade of the Ruike P188-B knife has an unusual sword tip profile with a thin false edge along the entire length of the butt, which makes the tool look like a miniature sword. When sharpening a blade of this type, the main emphasis is placed on the tip to preserve the penetrating abilities, which are the main advantage of the shape. The blade with a tapered tip demonstrates even cutting and shows itself perfectly in stabbing work, so such blades are often used not only in EDC tasks, but also in tactical operations.
The design opens instantly thanks to ball bearings in the axial unit - for this you need to press the flipper fin. The knife is fixed with a double lock: Liner lock + Thumb Up blocker.
The handle has smooth curves, which improves grip and prevents fatigue in the wrist when holding the knife for a long time. The dies on the handle are made of rough fiberglass G10. The material is not afraid of sudden temperature changes, direct mechanical impact and contact with both water and aggressive compounds.
The knife's ability to fold to 123 mm in length and its weight of 106 g positively affect its carrying comfort. This is also facilitated by the deep-seated clip, which allows the tool to be completely hidden in a pocket.
