To create the Crawford Model 1 knife, Cold Steel engineers teamed up with their long-time friend and designer of custom knives Wes Crawford, and taking as a basis his exclusive development, optimized it for the mass user.The blade of the Crawford Model 1 knife is of the Clip Point type, with high and straight descents. The cutting edge is ordinary, and, traditionally for knives from Cold Steel, sharpened to razor sharpness. There are two flippers on the blade's ricasso: the first, larger, is responsible for the standard, so to speak, ejection of the blade, the second is designed to open the knife at the moment of removing it from the pocket. When opened, two flippers form stops similar to a guard, which significantly increases safety during work. The blade is made of Japanese stainless steel 4034SS, which is characterized by wear resistance, good impact strength, and also keeps sharpening for a long time.The contour of the handle testifies to the reverent attitude of Mr. Crawford in particular and the Cold Steel company in general to the ergonomics and convenience of holding the knife. The back of the handle is curved, which, in combination with pronounced sub-finger recesses, allows us to call it anatomically verified. We would especially like to note the pommel. Unlike most knives, in which the curve of the pommel rests only on the little finger, in the Crawford Model 1, the" dagger-like " contour of this element gives an additional emphasis on the edge of the palm. This is convenient and safe for both normal and reverse grip. Pads made of patented Zy-Ex™material with special rubber inserts, which, in addition to the design features, almost completely block the possibility of sliding the handle.
