Overview

Tradition knives have a traditional handle shape, as well as a scimitar - shaped blade, and can be used in a variety of situations-from a picnic to hunting. Since 1980, there are twelve sizes in the Tradition collection, 1-12. Now numbers 1 and 11 are not released. In sizes 6-12, the blades are securely fixed in the open position thanks to the Virobloc® locking system, created by Marcel Opinel in 1955.The scimitar-shaped blades in this series are made of high-carbon steel. This content allows you to achieve excellent steel hardness after heat treatment, thereby guaranteeing excellent cutting, strength and sharpening performance. At the same time, carbon steel has a low resistance to corrosion. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid a humid environment, dry and lubricate the blade with oil after use. Since the steel does not contain chromium, the sharpening of the cutting edge of the blade is much easier than a blade made of steel with a chromium content.ATTENTION! To avoid the appearance of stains on the surface of the blade, we recommend wiping the blade dry after contact with a wet environment. However, the appearance of stains is a chemical reaction of the steel and is not a defect or a warranty case.
