S is a series of new devices for reducing the sound level of a shot (sound moderators) from Ase Utra OY, which is characterized by small dimensions and weight. Weapons equipped with these devices are more compact and maneuverable, have a better balance in comparison with more bulky analogues of other manufacturers. When using ordinary supersonic ammunition, it gives the following advantages: - significantly reduces the sound level to an acceptable level (for an unprotected ear); - they are recognized as an effective muzzle brake that reduces the recoil impulse; - eliminates the muzzle flash of the flame, which can blind at will at dusk or at night. Depending on the number of internal cameras, the series is divided into four models - SL5, SL6, SL7 and a recent novelty - the nine-camera model SL9, which are optimized for different groups of calibers. All modifications are produced with different types of threads found on long-barreled rifled weapons: M14x1 (Sauer 202 and 303 carbines); M15x1 (Blaser R8 carbines); M18х1 (Sniper rifles Sako TRG 22/ 42 and Blaser R93 LRS2; sports and hunting modifications Blaser R8 Match). The material is stainless steel of the 300 series, which contributes to a longer service life. With the declared guaranteed shot of 5,000, 10,000 were produced during the tests without any loss of functionality, which indicates the high reliability of the design. Since the device is not collapsible, for preventive cleaning it is enough to wash it with kerosene (after 1-2 thousand shots), and then dry it thoroughly with a hair dryer. During the testing conducted by the editors of the magazine "Engrossed World: Hunting and Weapons", the displacement of the center point of impact after installing the Ase Utra SL5 on the carbine did not exceed 2 MOA (6 cm) at a distance of 100 meters. At the same time, from 200 meters, the sound of a shot in the forest became barely distinguishable, and it was impossible to reveal the shooter's location! SL5 is the most compact in the model range of Ase Utra sound moderators. An ideal choice for weapons of small and medium calibers (not magnums). Caliber groups: SL5 .223 – for all .22 calibers (5, 6 mm); SL5 .25 - under 243 Win and 6.5x55 (as well as others - with a maximum bullet diameter of up to 6.7 mm); SL5 .30 – for caliber 30 (7.62 mm), up to and including 30-06.
