Woodcock hunting on a mud

Since the beginning of August, woodcocks have been making evening sorties to open fields and road ruts, which are pastures and passing routes for cattle. It is in such places, plunging its beak into the mud, that the bird gets food for itself. This custom of the forest sandpiper led to the hunting of mud. It is easy to calculate the places of stay of birds by footprints and holes in the mud left by the beak. The hunter needs to hide before sunset and wait for the arrival of woodcocks for feeding. The best way to shoot is in years. In most cases, hunters prefer not to take a dog with them on such a hunt, but a well-trained dog can help in finding and feeding killed game, which will not be easy to find in the dark on their own.
